Al Moulton

    While at this year’s national SPN AGM in Calgary Al Moulton was inducted into the SPN Hall of Fame in the builder category. Al has been involved with slopitch since the early days of Slo-Pitch Ontario, in 1989 when Slo-Pitch National was formed, Al was there, and has been involved with the program from it’s inception. 
    
    Al has held the position of Ontario Provincial Coordinator, Ottawa Tournament Coordinator and presently holds the position of Zone 4 Umpire In Chief. Al was the convener of the first National Championships held by SPN in Ottawa in 1990. Al also spearheaded the Montreal Canadian vs. Toronto Maple Leafs Slo-Pitch charity game in Ottawa in 1991. Al along with long time friend Roy Isaacs also introduced the Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec championship to teams in his area in the mid 90’s.
   
     Al has been involved with sports all his life, his love for the game developed from his fastball days where he helped run the Ottawa Valley League now known as the Ottawa Nepean Slo-Pitch League which is over a 125 teams strong. Al dedicated over 10 years to coaching Basketball for Special Olympics and was in charge of running the St Patty’s Day Parade in Ottawa for years.
    
    Al’s wife Anne, along with daughter Shelly and son Pat are so proud of their father and his contributions to the sports both locally, provincially and nationally. On behalf of the members of Slo-Pitch National, we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Al on his induction into the Hall of Fame.
