Am I correct in reading that the 2007 SPN nationals for mens A and womens A will be held the same time as the PIF - over three days, June 29, 30 and July 1st?
Let me be the first to ask the obvious question, then - if yes, then can players also play in other divisions of the SPN nationals being held at the usual dates - a month later?
Will the SPN nationals be part of the PIF or just held at the same time to be like an added attraction and let SPN have advantage of the huge spectator numbers and attention that the PIF draws.
Is the PIF looking at adding Coed divisions?
With 2006 nationals giving a full round robin, [extra games]to Mens A, and now both Mens A and Ladies A being in the PIF for 2007 it looks like things are going to get exciting for the higher divisions. Should really encourage teams to move up, no?
Regards and Merry Christmas to all!

| You can only play in one division. The Mens A and Womens A. These divisions will be held early in Quebec at the Pif. The Pif is part of the SPN Nationals. No SPN Coed National divisions at the Pif. |

Now what does this do to the "blended" teams from a few of Provinces that have played at the PIF over the years? That is one of the huge attractions to the Pif; getting to play with individuals and teams that you typically never get to play with. (SunTest - BC/ONT/NB, Legends - Man/ONT/Sask/NB, Brewers - ONT/QC) What does this bode for the American teams?? Looks like the Pif will be just another tournament in '07. Say it ain't so, Pete. Please keep the lustre that is the Pif.

There will be no changes to the ''blended teams''. Once a ''team'' has qualified at the provincials, open rosters will be permitted , as before. The rule for tne number of player changes permitted from a provincial to a national team will not apply. The residency rule will not apply. The competition will take place , as before, against other Canadian and American teams. All teams will play for the PIF Trophy and the cash awards as before. The added attraction will be that the best Canadian teams will be playing for the National Championship at the same time. U.S. teams will be playing for the regular awards and are not eligible for the National Awards. The top finishing Canadian Teams will receive the National Awards for the top 4 National Teams. If they finish well in the tournament they are also eligible for all the PIF prizing. A canadian team could be the Pif Champion, and the National Champion and win all the disgnated prizing.
The tournament will be exactly the same as before, no changes, except that Canadian teams can also win National honors by finishing well among the Canadian teams. we have done this as an extra added value for the players and teams. The PIF will never be just another tournament.

Can the Admin. tell me where in B.C. 2007 Nationals for Men's D will be held? The Lower Mainland would be nice since 75%of the teams from B.C. competing at Nats are from the Fraser Valley. Thanks and have a good New Year.
