2019 Rulebook & Policy Changes

Rule 2 Sec. 12
Equipment: Slo-Pitch National reserves the right to disapprove any equipment due to failure to meet either NOCSAE (National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment) or CSA (Canadian Safety Standards) safety standards.

Rule 5 Sec 3C
Note: Should an 11th player be discovered defensively, in divisions other than Men’s +65 and Women’s Seniors, the coach is ejected, and a defensive player is removed from the field. 
Effect: Should the discovery occur after a defensive play but prior to the next pitch, the offensive team will have the option of taking the result of the play or having the batter go back up to bat and assume the ball and strike count he had prior to the hit.

Rule 8 Sec. 5C
If a fair batted ball strikes a baserunner while he is off his base, and before passing an infielder other than the pitcher, the ball is immediately dead and the batter is entitled to first base without liability to be put out.

EFFECT: BASE RUNNER IS OUT

Rule 13 Effect Sec. 2C    
In a big ball small ball event, if the batter hits the wrong ball, the play is appeal situation by the offensive team. If the error is discovered during the at bat, the correct ball is substituted. If the error is discovered after the ball has been put into play, the batter will return to bat and assume the previous count and the correct ball will be substituted. The offensive team has the option of taking the result of the play or having the batter go back up to bat and assume the previous count he had prior to the bat and the correct ball will be substituted.

Division changes for 2020
Starting in 2020 to Mens +35 shall have 3 National Championship Divisions - Mens +35Comp, Mens +35IM and Mens +35E

Starting in 2020 Womens +35 shall have 2 National Championship Divisions - Womens +35Comp and Womens +35IM/E
