Art Mori has been recognized by his peers for his contributions to the SPN BC program in the umpire category. Art is also a very good player who competes at the highest level in the Senior’s category.
Art’s umpiring career started back in 1989. He was selected to officiate at the 1990 Nationals. He has attended a total of three Nationals as an umpire. He would have been involved in many more if it wasn’t for his teams playing in the Nationals at the same time.
He has been a long standing member of the Metro Umpires Association holding various executive positions including acting as the SPN representative within the association and the liason to the SPN leagues that Metro provides services for.
As a player, Art started playing slo-pitch in the Riverway Co-Ed league. He now competes in the senior category with the Royal City Fire Supplies. As of late, Art has now become the new President of the Old Fools Slo-Pitch League which plays out of Riverway Park in Burnaby.
SPNBC would like to take this opportunity to welcome Art Mori into the 2008 Hall of Honour in the umpire category.
