Dear SPN Members,
We understand that you may have some questions when it comes to what we are doing in response to the news surrounding COVID-19. During this unprecedented situation, the health and safety of our members remains our main priority.
Slo-Pitch National advises our leagues and tournament conveners to follow the local regulations, temporary restrictions and advisories within their specific provinces/territories, communities and private venues.
The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) currently advises organizers of events to consider deferring, cancelling, or changing their plans. Since situations differ, you should consult the health authorities in your jurisdiction (see contact information below) to inform your decisions. There have been a growing number of cancellations over the last 48 hours or so; you may wish to consider cancelling or postponing an event, or determine whether spectator numbers can be limited. These are difficult decisions as there are consequences for cancelling, but there are also risks associated with not cancelling.
At this time all scheduled Slo-Pitch National umpire clinics are cancelled or postponed until further notice. Please contact your local Umpire in Chief and or Clinician to discuss potential rescheduling of clinic dates. The umpire exam is available online at https://slo-pitch.com/en/umpire-exam
Slo-Pitch National will continue to closely monitor all COVID-19 developments in consultation with all public health authorities, and provide updates. We encourage all members to review additional information and guidelines to help prevent the spread of the novel corona virus known as COVID-19 found at:
